Through these illustrations and images, I wanted to depict what my fantasy reality would look like. In such a reality, the world would be serene, harmonious, in tune with nature, and exists primarily to find the beauty that is to be found in all things. The fictional persona you see in this series lives for these elements of life. She prioritizes relaxation and tranquility. She is friends with all sorts of creatures and beings, highlighting how she strives to find harmony with all that surrounds her. She is one with nature and the life it creates overall. And she sees the goodness and beauty there is in the world she lives in. I wanted to create this series with these inspirations in mind in order to illustrate what my ideal type of environment and life would look like. However, it is a stark contrast to the reality I, myself, and everyone else lives in, especially in today’s day and age. In this way, creating these images has proven to be a form of whimsical and imaginative escapism. The process of the creation of these works were therapeutic, the photoshopped ones more so than the illustrations, and they were overall a fun exercise in learning how to utilize these methods and push my creativity further.
