The beginning and growth of the internet has greatly affected the world of art. Artists like Cosic discuss how the interconnectedness and the various capabilities of the internet and technology allow a whole new world of possibilities for art, for example, what art is and where it can be. I think it’s really cool because it has in a way really opened up the world to art and gave art an overall larger audience. You don’t even have to be a person into art to see it and enjoy it. It’s just there on the internet, existing and being a part of our everyday lives. I think that’s really cool because it’s something that can reach and touch people from all over the world but it is an intangible thing. I think it’s also really metaphorical that the term net.art wasn’t even intentional but rather an accident with technology that then gained traction, just like how digital and internet art exists today. It also allows artists from all over the world to collaborate and communicate and explore without having to be physically present which makes art originating from more diverse perspectives. Overall, I find that the growth in internet art to be something really dear because it’s allowed for so many different and new opportunities for artists and audiences alike, further developing the growth of the interconnectedness of the modern age.
